LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 15th Anniversary of Bay Ridge
Preparatory School to be celebrated on April 25, 2013

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend institutions of commitment and high achievement whose purpose
and endeavor have been dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in the
education of the children of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is proud to commemorate the 15th Anni-
versary of an institution of enduring commitment and exemplary tradition
in educating the children of Brooklyn, New York, Bay Ridge Preparatory
School; and
WHEREAS, The Bay Ridge Preparatory School and the community will
proudly observe this historic occasion with a 15th Anniversary Party to
be held at the Dyker Beach Golf Course; and
WHEREAS, Bay Ridge Preparatory School is dedicated to enriching intel-
lectual curiosity, creativity, and emotional intelligence through a
student-centered community that values the unique talents and learning
styles of each person; and
WHEREAS, Established in 1998, Bay Ridge Preparatory School is a non-
profit, co-educational, college-preparatory, independent day school; it
has a student body of 396, an average class size of 15, and educates
students from Kindergarten through Grade 12 on two campuses; and
WHEREAS, Its 81st Street Campus, located on Ridge Boulevard in Brook-
lyn, is home to the Lower and Middle Schools (Grades K-8), the Office of
Admissions, and the Office of Development; and
WHEREAS, Bay Ridge Preparatory School's 74th Street Campus, located on
Fourth Avenue in Brooklyn, is home to the High School (Grades 9-12) and
the Office of Athletics; and
WHEREAS, Bay Ridge Preparatory School is accredited by the Board of
Regents of The University of the State of New York and the New York
State Association of Independent Schools and is, in addition, a member
of the National Association of Independent Schools; and
WHEREAS, The schools of a community reflect the character and values
of that community; the residents, school officials, parents, faculty and
students of Bay Ridge Preparatory School may, on the occasion of its
15th Anniversary, take just pride in its history of quality in leader-
ship, teaching, achievement and community support; and
WHEREAS, Today, Bay Ridge Preparatory School stands prepared to reach
out, in earnest and enthusiastic quest of its mission, to promote the
maximum growth of every student, establishing standards and building
skills which will carry its students and the citizens of its community
into the future; and
WHEREAS, Bay Ridge Preparatory School is proudly aware of its distin-
guished past; eager to fulfill its commitment to parents, students and
community; and planning with vision and purpose for the ebb and swell of
growth and change it will encounter in the years to come; now, there-
fore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor and commend Bay Ridge Preparatory School upon the occasion of its
15th Anniversary to be celebrated on April 25, 2013; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Bay Ridge Preparatory School.
