LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson and
the City of Middletown, New York upon the occasion of celebrating its El
Dia De Los Ninos Festival on April 27, 2013

WHEREAS, The greatest asset of any society is its children and the hope
and promise they represent for the future; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend organizations of high purpose and worthy accomplishment whose
endeavors have a significant impact on the quality of life of others,
especially the youth of the community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, it is the intent of this Legislative Body to
commend Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson and the City of Middletown, New
York, upon the occasion of celebrating its El Dia De Los Ninos Festival,
to be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Thrall Park in Middletown,
New York, in conjunction with National El Dia De Los Ninos to be
observed on April 30, 2013; and
WHEREAS, This most auspicious event will be hosted by Girl Scouts
Heart of the Hudson in conjunction with the City of Middletown, the New
York State Office of Children and Family Services through the Orange
County Youth Bureau, and the City of Middletown Business Improvement
District; and
WHEREAS, El Dia De Los Ninos (The Day of The Children) Festival is a
day which embraces the diverse community of Middletown, New York, and
offers its residents free and fun activities for all children and their
families; and
WHEREAS, This exciting event provides an opportunity for members of
the Middletown area to come together and focus on creating a community
where children can grow up safe and healthy; and
WHEREAS, El Dia De Los Ninos also offers a venue for parents to
connect with their children, for schools to connect with their students
and for cities to include youth in their structure and planning; and
WHEREAS, Events and occasions like El Dia De Los Ninos Festival exem-
plify and add strength, vigor, and inspiration to the diversity and
quality of life of the communities of the City of Middletown and State
of New York;and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor organizations such as Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson, which
faithfully devote their resources and purposeful endeavors to improving
the lives of those they serve; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson and the City of Middletown, New
York upon the occasion of celebrating its El Dia De Los Ninos Festival
on April 27, 2013; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson and the City of Middletown,
New York.
