LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Greg Greene upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Legionnaire of the Year Award on April
19, 2013

WHEREAS, Members of the Armed Services from the State of New York, who
have served so valiantly and honorably in wars in which this country's
freedom was at stake, as well as in the preservation of peace in peace-
time, deserve a special salute from this Legislative Body; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to commend those
who have served in times of active conflict, as well as to those who
have served in times of peace; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Greg
Greene upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the Legion-
naire of the Year Award by the American Legion-Massapequa Post 1066, to
be celebrated at its Committeemen Appreciation Night on Friday, April
19, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Residents of this great State must never forget the courage
with which Greg Greene served his country, and must recognize that no
greater debt is owed than that owed to those who gave their lives for
their beloved Nation and to those who continue to be missing in action;
and
WHEREAS, Having exhibited his patriotism both at home and abroad, Greg
Greene demonstrated his love for his country and merits forevermore, the
highest respect of his State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, Greg Greene deserves to be recognized, commended and thanked
by the people of the State of New York for his service and for his dedi-
cation to his communities, his State and his Nation; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Greg Greene upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the Legionnaire of the Year Award to be celebrated on April 19, 2013;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Greg Greene.
