LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Chief Christopher J. Benes of Bellmore-
Merrick Emergency Service's First Responder Squad upon the occasion of
his designation for special recognition by the Merrick Chamber of
Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who give
outstanding service to the people of the Empire State and whose extraor-
dinary achievements save the lives of their fellow citizens should be
recognized because their efforts so profoundly strengthen our shared
commitment to family and community life; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Chief Christo-
pher J. Benes of Bellmore-Merrick Emergency Service's First Responder
Squad upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by
the Merrick Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, January 24, 2013, at its
Annual Installation Dinner; and
WHEREAS, Chief Christopher Benes is being commended for his outstand-
ing dedication and partnership within his community; and
WHEREAS, On many occasions, the Bellmore-Merrick Emergency Service's
First Responder Squad has acted with bravery and steady precision in
dealing with the risk and drama of emergency situations; and
WHEREAS, In the performance of their duties, Chief Christopher Benes
and the members of the Bellmore-Merrick Emergency Service's First
Responder Squad have demonstrated their character and their compassion
for the welfare of others and have proven to be tremendous assets to
their community; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that we should give
special recognition to those who work so assiduously for the betterment
of their communities, and acknowledge publicly the heroic good works
performed by the volunteer fire departments of this great Empire State,
their officers and auxiliaries; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Chief Christopher J. Benes of Bellmore-Merrick Emergency Service's
First Responder Squad upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the Merrick Chamber of Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Chief Christopher J. Benes.
