LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Clarence Senior Citizens, Inc. upon the
occasion of its designation as the Organization of the Year by the
Clarence Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are enhanced by the concerned and dedicated efforts of business organ-
izations and individuals that generously contribute to the welfare of
the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Clarence Senior Citizens, Inc. upon the occasion of its designation as
the Organization of the Year by the Clarence Chamber of Commerce; this
auspicious occasion will be celebrated at the Chamber's Annual Awards
Dinner, to be held on Thursday, February 28, 2013, at Samuel's Grande
Manor; and
WHEREAS, One of Clarence, New York's Shining Stars, the Clarence
Senior Center opened its doors in 1981; and
WHEREAS, The mission of Clarence Senior Citizens, Inc. is to provide
social, recreational, educational, and nutritional programs, as well as
opportunities for volunteerism, to persons in the community who are 55
years of age and over; and
WHEREAS, The Clarence Senior Center offers dining programs, exercise
classes, art classes, book groups, computer classes, card games, bocce
ball, day and extended trips, among other activities; and
WHEREAS, In addition, the Clarence Senior Center is a place for senior
citizens of Clarence, New York, and the surrounding community to gather
to share and enjoy the company of others; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents a unique opportunity for
this Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to Clarence Senior
Citizens, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be recognized by all the citizens of this great Empire
State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Clarence Senior Citizens, Inc. upon the occasion of its desig-
nation as the Organization of the Year by the Clarence Chamber of
Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Clarence Senior Citizens, Inc.
