LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring the Clarence Community and Schools
Federal Credit Union upon the occasion of its designation as Business of
the Year by the Clarence Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are enhanced by the concerned and dedicated efforts of business organ-
izations and individuals that generously contribute to the welfare of
the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor the
Clarence Community and Schools Federal Credit Union upon the occasion of
its designation as Business of the Year by the Clarence Chamber of
Commerce; this auspicious occasion will be celebrated at the Chamber's
Annual Awards Dinner, to be held on Thursday, February 28, 2013, at
Samuel's Grande Manor; and
WHEREAS, The Clarence Community and Schools Federal Credit Union was
first chartered on October 13, 1954, as CCS Federal Credit Union, serv-
ing Clarence school district employees; its name was changed to the
Clarence Community and Schools Federal Credit Union when membership
eligibility was expanded from Clarence school district employees to a
community credit union serving anyone who lives, works, worships or goes
to school in Clarence, New York, and their families; and
WHEREAS, Owned and operated by its members and volunteer board of
directors, the Clarence Community and Schools Federal Credit Union is a
not for profit, cooperative financial institution; it provides friendly
and professional service, returning profits back to the members; and
WHEREAS, The Clarence Community and Schools Federal Credit Union
recently expanded its membership to include anyone who lives, works,
worships or goes to school in the communities of Amherst and Newstead,
New York, and their families; and
WHEREAS, Under the expert leadership of its Chief Executive Officer
and Manager, Marsha Brauer, the Clarence Community and Schools Federal
Credit Union has more than doubled the number of members and asset size;
it has also increased the number of staff and the size of its building
to better accommodate the growing membership; and
WHEREAS, The Clarence Community and Schools Federal Credit Union has
been serving its members for over 58 years and continues to provide
friendly professional service; it continues to serve its members with
personal, professional and efficient financial services, also striving
to be the primary financial institution for its members and continuing
to provide employment in the community; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents a unique opportunity for
this Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to the Clarence
Community and Schools Federal Credit Union; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be recognized by all the citizens of this great Empire
State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the Clarence Community and Schools Federal Credit Union upon the
occasion of its designation as Business of the Year by the Clarence
Chamber of Commerce; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Clarence Community and Schools Federal Credit Union.
