LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Gene Nachamkin, Ph.D. upon the occasion
of his designation as recipient of the Flame of Hope Award by the
Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York

WHEREAS, The State of New York takes great pride in acknowledging its
esteemed residents who have distinguished themselves in their community;
and
WHEREAS, Gene Nachamkin, Ph.D. will be honored with the Epilepsy Foun-
dation of Northeastern New York's Flame of Hope Award during its
"Confections in Chocolate Gala" to be held at Wolferts Roost Country
Club on March 9, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Nachamkin studied accounting and finance, earning an
undergraduate degree form the State University of New York at Albany, a
graduate degree from Fordham University, and a Ph.D. from American
University; and
WHEREAS, He has enjoyed a distinguished career in healthcare for over
40 years; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Nachamkin has successfully operated a traumatic brain
injury facility, a pediatric care unit, skill and sub-acute facilities,
and rehabilitation centers; and
WHEREAS, He contributes his time to many fraternal and non-profit
organizations, including several A.R.C.s; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Nachamkin resides in Niskayuna with his loving wife,
Dianna; and
WHEREAS, He has exhibited the true spirit of this prestigious award
through his tireless dedication to healthcare and his community; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Gene Nachamkin, Ph.D. upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the Flame of Hope Award by the Epilepsy Foundation of
Northeastern New York; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Gene Nachamkin, Ph.D.
