LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Kelly Colone of Chittenango, New
York, upon the occasion of being awarded an advanced certification for
teaching excellence by the National Board for Professional Teaching
Standards

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of
and publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and charac-
ter whose endeavors have enhanced the quality of education in this great
State and whose professional lives, personal endeavors and community
service are an example and inspiration to their colleagues, friends, and
family; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Kelly Colone of Chittenango, New York, upon the occasion of being
awarded an advanced certification for teaching excellence by the
National Board for Professional Teaching Standards in Arlington, Virgi-
nia; and
WHEREAS, The mission of the National Board for Professional Teaching
Standards is to advance student learning by establishing high standards
for teachers and rewarding those who achieve it; and
WHEREAS, Kelly Colone of Chittenanago, New York, a teacher at the
Hughes School in Syracuse, New York, has been awarded an advance certif-
ication for teaching excellence by the National Board for Professional
Teaching Standards; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her educational and community
service, a period of constructive involvement, Kelly Colone of Chitten-
ango, New York, has stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor, and
has earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues, friends and
family; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be recognized by all the citizens of this great Empire
State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Kelly Colone of Chittenango, New York, upon the occasion of
being awarded an advanced certification for teaching excellence by the
National Board for Professional Teaching Standards; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Kelly Colone.
