LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Bellerose Hillside Civic Associ-
ation upon the occasion of celebrating its 75th Anniversary on December
11, 2012

WHEREAS, it is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals that are devoted to the welfare of the community
and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Bellerose Hillside Civic Association upon the occasion of celebrat-
ing its 75th Anniversary; this auspicious occasion was celebrated on
December 11, 2012; and
WHEREAS, The Bellerose Hillside Civic Association was organized in
1937 by Charlotte and August Oliger, along with several other residents
of the neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, The first president of the Bellerose Hillside Civic Associ-
ation was August Oliger; and
WHEREAS, The current president of the Bellerose Hillside Civic Associ-
ation is Jerry Wind; and
WHEREAS, The Bellerose Hillside Civic Association is a proud member of
the Queens Civic Congress; it works with other neighborhood civic asso-
ciations and elected officials to preserve the Bellerose Hillside neigh-
borhood and other neighborhoods in Queens, New York; and
WHEREAS, On Tuesday, December 11, 2012, the Bellerose Hillside Civic
Association proudly celebrated its 75th Anniversary; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to the Bellerose Hillside
Civic Association; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when an organ-
ization of such noble aims and accomplishments is brought to our atten-
tion, it should be recognized and applauded by all the citizens of this
great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Bellerose Hillside Civic Association upon the occasion of
celebrating its 75th Anniversary; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Bellerose Hillside Civic Association.
