Good morning, Buffalo

William T. Stachowski

June 05, 2009

Here's a quick blurb from this mornings Buffalo News:

State Sen. William Stachowski, fresh from shepherding the UB 2020 Bill through the upper house in Albany, continues to look like a major local benefactor today. He's going to Eden with volunteers from WNY AmeriCorps and the Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority to pick up more than 10,000 vegetable and flower plants to be be distributed to PUSH (People United for Sustainable Housing), the Seneca Babcock Neighborhood gardens and the Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority for community gardens. The program started last year after Sen. Stachowski partnered on the concept with prominent Eden farmer Paul Zittel and got a boost this year when the Erie County Farm Bureau joined in.
