Klein Hails On Time Passage Of Municipal Aid Budget

 

ALBANY, NY- State Senator Jeff Klein (D-Westchester/Bronx), a member of thepowerful Senate Finance Committee, today hailed the on time Legislative passage the Public Protection and General Government portion of the state budget with millions in additional funding to Bronx and Westchester County communities in the 34th Senate District. Locally, the Senate-Assembly agreement:

  • bringing their state aid total to a record high of $ 82,439.
  • bringing their state aid total to a record high of $74,888.
  • bringing their state aid total to a record high of $66,248.

Westchester,” Senator Klein said. “Working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle, we were not only able to restore the Governor's aid cuts but actually approve record funding increases for many communities. I am hopeful this increase in funding will help local governments in my district reduce the tremendous property tax burden being placed on my constituents,” Klein concluded.

The legislation, which passed the Senate and the Assembly with overwhelming, bi-partisan votes, is expected to be signed by the Governor.
