State Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) recently visited Ms. Deirdre Baldassare’s kindergarten class at the Seaford Harbor Elementary School in Seaford to serve as a guest reader during the school’s annual “Reading Day”.

Senator Fuschillo read “House Mouse, Senate Mouse” by Peter and Cheryl Barnes to the students. The story allowed the children to learn in a fun way what Senator Fuschillo’s job is and how laws are made.

The students also told Senator Fuschillo some of their ideas for new laws.

“Reading benefits children throughout their lives. Getting students excited about reading by showing them that books can be fun will help them develop a love for reading. I really enjoyed reading to the children, watching how much they enjoyed the story, and hearing their ideas for new laws,” said Senator Fuschillo.
