Senator Alesi And New York State Senate Honor West Point Cadets

On Wednesday, April 5, Senator Jim Alesi (R,C - Perinton) welcomed Cadets from the United States Military Academy at West Point and joined the New York State Senate in honoring their bravery, courage, and selflessness.

"These young men and women truly live by the standard that all of us should strive for," said Senator Alesi. "I’m honored to join my colleagues in the Senate in honoring their committment to protect freedom throughout the globe; they serve as role models to us all."

Joining West Point Commanding Officer, General Lennox, were cadets from every region of the country and from all walks of life. Senator Alesi was especially proud to welcome Matthew Grinnell, a sophomore at West Point and a resident of Fairport, New York. Matthew spent two years at the University of Rochester before entering West Point and is currently studying Military History. Follwing his term of active duty, Matthew plans on working for his family’s Restaurant - Grinnells Steak, Seafood and Pasta in Brighton, New York.
