Senator Dale M. Volker Secures $250,000 For Roycroft Campus

(Albany, NY) Senator Dale M. Volker (R-I-C, Depew) today announced that he has secured $250,000 for the renovations and restorations of the Copper Shop located at the Roycroft Campus in East Aurora. Senator Volker secured these funds as part of the adopted 2006-2007 state budget.

"The historical architectural, design, and artistic expression located at the Roycroft Campus is of national and international significance," said Senator Dale M. Volker. "In order to ensure that the structural and historical integrity remains intact, the need for restorations of the Copper Shop is of the utmost importance. Securing $250,000 in state financial resources will provide the needed funding to complement additional revenue sources in a collaborative effort to protect and preserve this treasure located in western New York."

Doug Swift, President of the Roycroft Campus Corporation said, "We are very grateful to the Western New York Legislative Delegation, specifically Senator Volker, for securing this $250,000 state grant. These funds will go a long way towards our goal of preserving this unique architectural setting, and bring back to life the Roycroft community and its ideals"

Christine Peters, Executive Director of the Roycroft Campus Corporation said, "Not only are we restoring the historically significant Roycroft Campus for future generations of Americans to enjoy, but it will make a positive difference in our community by instituting new educational programs, encourage and support artisans, as well as expand our regional tourism efforts that benefit our community, our county and state. I would like to thank Senator Volker for helping us foster and promote the Roycroft Campus by securing this state grant."

Daniel DiPietro, Mayor of the Village of East Aurora said, "We all realize the significant economic and artistic importance that the Roycroft campus brings to the Village of East Aurora. It is why Senator Volker’s advocacy in securing this $250,000 state grant is so important and one of the reasons why this project is moving forward expeditiously. Working together, we continue to reap the rewards of private-public partnerships that benefit the Roycroft Campus, our residents, and our western New York community."
