Senator Flanagan To Appear On WLIW’s Q & A Regarding Nixzmary’s Law
Senator John J. Flanagan (2nd Senate District) will appear on WLIW Channel 21’s Q&A program on Monday, February 6 at 7:30 p.m. The show will cover the topic of child abuse in the wake of the death of Nixzmary Brown. The 7-year old was brutally beaten and left for dead, allegedly at the hands of her mother and her stepfather.
Senator Flanagan joined with host Alexander Johnson and fellow legislator Assemblyman William Scarborough (29 Assembly District) to discuss the circumstances surrounding Nixzmary’s death and the overall issue of child welfare. Senator Flanagan also discussed legislation he has sponsored in the
Senate that would increase the penalties for parents or guardians who kill a child.
The show will air on WLIW on Monday at 7:30 p.m. and be rebroadcast on Saturday, February 11 at 7:00 a.m.
