Senator Flanagan To Discuss The Issues On Cablevision's Meet The Leaders

Senator John J. Flanagan (2nd Senate District) recently joined host Patrick Halpin for a taping of Cablevision's Meet the Leaders program. Senator Flanagan took the opportunity to update Long Islanders about a number of important issues that he is currently working on.

The discussion included an update on Senator Flanagan's continuing efforts to stop Governor Eliot Spitzer's attempt to allow those in the country illegally to obtain driver's licenses. Senator Flanagan has sponsored legislation that has passed the Senate that would derail Spitzer's plan and protect the security of the state. Both pieces of legislation that Senator Flanagan sponsored are awaiting action in the Assembly.

The two also discussed the future of the Nissequogue River State Park and the work he is doing within the community to make sure that this new park is cleaned up and preserved by the Spitzer administration.

Additionally, the two spoke about the Rebate NY program that is delivering tax relief directly to Long Island homeowners and about the upcoming budget debate.
