The improvement project at the Freeport train station includes the following:

- Improved heating system

- New security cameras in waiting room and elevator entrance at street level

- Better lighting

- Brand new wall and floor tiling

- Larger windows

- New waiting room doors
- Renovations to the platform elevator vestibules

According to the MTA, construction on the project is expected to start tomorrow, beginning with work to the platform waiting room, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of August.
