Senator Fuschillo Wins State Grant For Restoration Of Lindenhurst Soccer Fields
Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) announced today that he secured a $7,500 state grant for the Lindenhurst Junior Squires Soccer League. The funding will help the league restore two soccer fields at Shore Road Park.
"As a youth soccer coach, I know how much the players enjoy the game and the benefit it has on their development," said Senator Fuschillo. "By renovating these two fields, we will enhance the children’s enjoyment of soccer, while at the same time ensure that they are playing in a safe and modern environment. This project is definitely a win for the Lindenhurst community."
Founded in 1977, the Lindenhurst Junior Squires Soccer League is a nonprofit organization that enrolls over 800 children each year. The league offers intramural, interleague, and travel teams, and has teams in both fall and spring seasons ranging from under 5 to under 19 years of age.
"On behalf of the children of the Lindenhurst Junior Squires Soccer League, and their families, we would all like to thank Senator Fuschillo for securing grant funds to assist us with the renovation of our fields at Shore Road Park in Lindenhurst," said Donna Burkard, the League's Vice President. "Senator Fuschillo's support in the renovation of our fields will allow Lindenhurst teams to practice and host games in their hometown while feeling a strong sense of community pride. This grant communicates his support and belief in the successful future of our children, as together we are investing our time and money into our most precious resources; our kids. We again thank Senator Fuschillo for helping make the impossible possible."
