Senator Klein Calls On Legislature To Reconvene Conference Committee To Work Out Differences On Civil Confinement Legislation



In an effort to further protect children from the dangers of level 2 and 3 sex offenders, Tuckahoe Village Trustee John Fitzpatrick today proposed a local law which would ban level 2 and 3 sex offenders from establishing residence within 1,000 feet of a park or recreational facility within the Village of Tuckahoe. “There is nothing more important to a parent that the safety, health and well-being of their children,” said Trustee John Fitzpatrick. “This proposed local law adds yet another layer of security for our families and furthers our village’s no-tolerance approach towards crimes against children.”


“Trustee Fitzpatrick’s prominence as a lawmaker, coupled with his commitment to improve public safety and quality of life in our neighborhoods, positions him to be an incredible advocate towards enacting meaningful community justice legislation,” said Senator Jeff Klein. “Our state legislature now needs to be proactive and pass this vital civil confinement legislation so that our towns and villages are protected from possible acts of recidivism.”
