Varick – Continuing his commitment to creating jobs in the Central Finger Lakes and the Hillside Children's Center in Varick, New York State Senator Michael F. Nozzolio (R-Fayette) today announced that he has secured a $500,000 State grant for the facility. “Hillside’s presence in the community has played an integral role in the revitalization of the former Seneca Army Depot while also playing an important role in improving the lives of New York’s at-risk children,” said Senator Nozzolio. It was a pleasure for me to secure this $500,000 State grant to improve Hillsides facilities and ensure our children are provided with the support they need in overcoming crisis and becoming healthy, well-rounded and successful citizens.”
The Hillside Children Center Varick Campus has grown dramatically since it began operations in 2004 growing from 53 children and 186 employees to 118 children and 355 employees.
