These state funds will be used by Livingston County to upgrade infrastructure improvements to meet the demand for the new Barilla Pasta manufacturing facility located in Avon, Livingston County.

"Barilla Pasta locating their new manufacturing facility in Avon was a tremendous victory for Livingston County and the entire State of New York," said Senator Dale M. Volker. "The competition for this new plant was significant, but working with Livingston County officials, we were able to win their selection process and bring to our region a new employer, new jobs and new economic opportunities for our families. By securing this $600,000 grant for Livingston County, we can quickly move forward to improve the pertinent infrastructure improvements that are critical for this plant’s operations."

James Merrick, Chairman of the Livingston County Board of Supervisors said, "From getting Livingston County Empire Zone Designation, to securing today’s $600,000 state grant for improvements to our infrastructure, Senator Volker continues to be an outstanding advocate for Livingston County in Albany. We continue to work collaboratively to improve our region and securing this new major manufacturing facility will significantly enhance opportunities for our residents and existing businesses located within our region."
