BALL PRESS CONFERENCE ON HURRICANE RESPONSE SAT 9/3 AT 2 PM

Senator Ball is requesting your support and your attendance in joining him for a press conference on this coming Saturday, September 3rd at 2 PM in Putnam Valley to announce that he will be holding a hearing on the response times and communication failures following Hurricane Irene. Senator Ball will also be calling on the full support of the Federal government through FEMA to support all of NY’s our towns and our citizens in response to this hurricane.

Please see the details of the press conference below and attached and please confirm your attendance and support.

Senator Greg Ball is calling for a Senate investigation into poor response times and communication failures following Hurricane Irene. More than five days after the storm, some utility companies claim to still be assessing the damage and have failed to properly communicate estimated restoration times with customers.

“This is not a third-world country,” said Senator Ball, who is the Chairman of the Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs Committee. “These companies need to begin to more immediately respond to abandoned customers, struggling for basic answers and information. A suggestion of two weeks without service is unacceptable and begs for an independent hearing and investigation into New York’s apparent inability to recover and respond,” added Ball.
