Louise Cantarella of Carmel, a volunteer at Putnam Hospital Center, was relieved that her blood pressure was perfect. “Not bad for a gal my age,” said the “seasoned” citizen who was among some 300 area residents from across the region who participated in Friday’s senior health fair at the hospital to help celebrate PHC’s golden anniversary.
Valuable information was also provided to those attending as well as cholesterol tests, heart health information, nutritional counseling, tips on weight loss, wound care guidance and senior living accommodations.
The fair was co-sponsored by the hospital and State Senator Greg Ball.
PHC President James Caldas thanked the senator for his co-sponsorship: “For the past half century, our hospital has been at the forefront of providing quality health care to the senior members of our community. We were pleased to further the commitment by offering a health fair specifically granted to our seniors.” (ARTICLE)
