New York, N.Y. – 6/03/2013 – Heroes in Transition hosted their annual gala this past weekend at the Union Square W Hotel in New York City to raise money for returning military service members.
Heroes In Transition, is a 501 (c) 3, not-for-profit organization founded in honor of Marine Captain Eric A. Jones who grew up in Pound Ridge, NY. Captain Jones was killed in a helicopter collision during a combat mission in the Helmand Province of Afghanistan on October 26, 2009.
The organization aims at helping those who have served or who are currently serving our country, especially in the Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) conflicts, by providing appropriate assistance.
“Heroes in Transition has been providing assistance to veterans in honor of fallen Marine Captain Eric A. Jones since 2010,” said Heroes in Transition President Michael Warshaw.
Senator Greg Ball (R, C, I – Patterson) has partnered with Heroes in Transition to organize a bus trip for World War II veterans to visit the World War II memorial in Washington D.C. The trip, which will take place on September 17th is free and open to all WWII veterans.
“It’s my honor to join Michael and lend a helping hand with all the great work he is doing,” said Senator Ball. “I am excited to team up with Heroes in Transition to host this free trip to Washington D.C. for our WWII veterans. These brave men and women gave so much to fight for our nation’s safety and freedom and it is our honor to give them an opportunity to see the national monument that was created in honor of their service.”
