BREWSTER, N.Y. –  A clothing drive is being held for Hudson Valley veterans who are residents at the Montrose and Castle Point Hudson Valley Veterans Administration facilities.

State Senator Greg Ball is promoting the drive, and said  the veterans are in need to t-shirts, diabetic socks, underwear, warm coats, gloves and hats.

“It is sad to think, but many of our local Hudson Valley veterans are in need of warm clothing for the winter months ahead,” Ball said. “It breaks my heart to think that some of these heroes lack basic necessities. As a community, we have a duty to ensure they are provided for. No New Yorker, especially a veteran, should go without warm clothing this winter.”

All collected winter clothing will be donated to the Veteran Administration Outreach to Hudson Valley Veterans. Six drop off locations for the drive have been established: Ball’s District Office at 1441 Route 22, Suite 205 in Brewster, the VA Carmel Outpatient Clinic 1875 Route 6, Providence Bank 2nd Floor, Kennedy Catholic High School in Somers, Our Lady of Lourdes High School 131 Boardman Rd Poughkeepsie, VA Hudson Valley Healthcare Castle Point Clothing Room 41 Castle Point Road Wappingers Falls, and St. Augustine Church, 55 Main Street Highland.
