LARKIN LEGISLATION PASSES SENATE
Bill Will Allow Farm Wineries To Sell Wine At Roadside Farm Markets
Senator Bill Larkin (R-C, Cornwall-on-Hudson) announced today that the New York State Senate has passed Senate bill S.4241-A, which authorizes the sale of wine produced by farm or special wineries or micro-wineries at licensed roadside farm markets.
“I am very proud to have sponsored this legislation to assist our local wineries and farms,” said Senator Larkin. “New York needs to continue to do all it can to promote our farmers and our local wineries in expanding their markets and making their products available to a wider number of consumers. This legislation will give wineries additional exposure to new markets that they currently do not have available to them and will allow roadside farm markets to expand the products they have available for purchase which will increase their overall business,” said Larkin. “This legislation is a prime example of how a small change in the law can bring about a substantial change at the local level.”
The bill has been sent to the Assembly for consideration.
