LOHUD: SEN. GREG BALL SECURES $100,000 STATE GRANT FOR PAWLING HIGH SCHOOL
Students at Pawling High School are now enjoying a new fitness center thanks to a $100,000 state grant that Senator Greg Ball (R, C, I – Patterson) has secured for his alma mater.
“I was honored to deliver this grant for my high school. The students and sports teams didn’t have an adequate fitness facility. I am happy that this funding has allowed the school to finally make this project a reality. This is a beautiful room that will be used by many generations to come,” said Senator Greg Ball. “As long as I am in office, I will continue to fight to bring as much of our tax money back home, where it belongs.”
Many years ago, Pawling High School converted a storeroom into a weight room. The funding has allowed the school to completely renovate and expand the old room to create a much larger co-ed fitness center. The school added new fitness equipment, a rubber flooring, air conditioning, viewing windows and even a stereo for the students that use the facility.
“The new fitness room is a beautiful addition to our school and is being used on a continual basis by our student athletes and coaches. Our physical education and health teachers have also begun to incorporate the fitness room into their instructional programs so that all Pawling High School students can benefit from this facility,” said Pawling High School Principal Helen Callan. “We would like to thank Senator Ball for his support of our students and of our high school program.” (ARTICLE)
