Turning waste into energy will discussed Thursday (Dec. 19) at Putnam Valley Town Hall as officials host a presentation from Taylor Biomass Energy. The session will focus on how garbage can be turned into gas, eliminating waste while creating energy.

Putnam Valley Supervisor Bob Tendy and state Sen. Greg Ball are sponsoring the event.

“Currently, we are paying folks to transport our waste a great distance away.  This process revolutionizes the entire waste process by creating a real value around our refuse, literally turning our trash into cash. We continue to utilize an outdated process to dispose of garbage and waste that is harmful to the environment and not economically sound,” Ball said in a statement.

The session will start at 7 p.m. at Putnam Valley Town Hall, 265 Oscawana Lake Road. (ARTICLE)
