MEDIA ADVISORY: SENATOR BALL SECURES $50,000 FOR MY SISTER’S PLACE TO COMBAT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Brewster, N.Y. – (09/19/11) – One in every four women will experience some form domestic violence in her lifetime. That staggering statistic is the reason that Senator Greg Ball (R, C – Patterson) is proud to announce he personally secured $50,000 in state funding for one the area’s leading organizations working to combat domestic violence. Senator Ball will be delivering a check to My Sister’s Place of White Plain, N.Y. this Wednesday, September 21st at 6 p.m.
My Sister’s Place (MSP) works to combat domestic violence through a holistic approach that includes intervention, education and prevention. The funding, secured by Senator Ball through a New York State grant, will support MSP’s Legal Center, which provides legal services to victims of domestic violence who are financially unable to retain their own counsel.
