Brewster, N.Y.– 1/28/2012– Senator Greg Ball (R, C – Patterson) will be speaking to the troops at Camp Smith at a mobilization ceremony on Sunday, January 29th. The event is an opportunity to recognize the soldiers for their service with family members present, and wish them well as they prepare to embark on their post-mobilization training. Several military leaders and other elected officials will help to send off the soldiers alongside Senator Ball.
“Our soldiers will train for their mobilization which will be located in Camp Shelby, Mississippi,” said Michael Clifford with Camp Smith. “Soldiers are expected to be on federal active duty for up to twelve months. The Army continues to re-evaluate the need for forces overseas, and revisit opportunities to reduce their presence. Some soldiers may deploy to Kuwait for other missions as the Army sees fit.”
Senator Greg Ball said, “Very rarely in our nation’s history have so few paid the price of freedom for so many. Most Americans are blessed to live a life disconnected from the reality that freedom is not free for our troops and their families. I wouldn’t miss this opportunity to thank these soldiers and their families and I want to applaud these fine young men and women for stepping up and serving our nation so heroically.”
