SENATOR GREG BALL PREVENTS TAX HIKE FOR PATTERSON RESIDENTS BY SECURING $1 MILLION FOR COURT HOUSE

Brewster, N.Y. – (12/14/11) – Senator Greg Ball (R, C – Patterson) successfully secured $1 million for the construction of the Patterson Court House, which ultimately prevented a tax hike for Patterson residents. Senator Ball will present the Town of Patterson with a $1 million check on December 15, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. in front of the new Patterson Court House.

“There is no way that the Town of Patterson could have absorbed this debt,” Senator Ball said. “Taxes would have been raised and the hardworking people of Patterson would have been forced to absorb this burden.”

Senator Ball will be joined by Town of Patterson Council Members for Thursday’s check presentation. Councilman Kevin Burns says he is thrilled that the state has fulfilled its commitment to the taxpayers of the Town of Patterson and reimbursed the $1 million court house construction costs.

“Our state of the art court house is a shining jewel in our town, and the last of the foreseeable capital improvements that were desperately needed within our town,” said Burns.”I would like to thank Rich Williams our town planner for his tireless work on the project and for bringing it in under budget.  I would like to thank Governor Cuomo for his efforts at funding DASNY’s obligations with his state budget. I appreciate the difficult economic times both our state and our town are currently facing. Finally, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Senator Ball for his efforts to working with the legislature and the governor to see to it these funds were made available to DASNY in the budget, and disbursed to us on a timely basis.”
