METRO-NORTH UPDATE FROM GOVERNOR ANDREW M. CUOMO

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo this evening provided the following update on Metro-North service for Monday, October 31:

Metro-North will resume train service Monday morning on the Upper Harlem line between Southeast and North White Pains. Bus service will be provided for the Wassaic branch. Train service will resume between Port Jervis and Harriman stations on the Port Jervis Line. Customers should expect possible residual delays on both the Upper Harlem and Port Jervis lines.

Personnel from Metro-North and New York City Transit have been working around the clock to clear dozens of downed trees that blocked tracks north of North White Plains, including the removal of drooping power lines and the replacement of sections where trees have crushed the third rail that powers the trains.

In Connecticut, partial train service will resume on the Waterbury Branch, with trains originating at Beacon Falls and connecting with main line service at Bridgeport. Train service to Waterbury will resume as soon as the last ten miles of tracks are cleared of fallen trees. Bus service will resume Tuesday on the Danbury branch.
