MILAN VETERAN INDUCTED INTO SENATOR GREG BALL’S 2ND ANNUAL VETERANS’ HALL OF FAME
Brewster, N.Y. – (3/2/13) – Over two dozen veterans from throughout the Hudson Valley were honored at Senator Greg Ball (R,C,I - Patterson) 2nd Annual Veterans’ Hall of Fame Ceremony. Among them, was Sam Lore from the Town of Milan.
The Veterans’ Hall of Fame was created by Senator Ball, and designed to honor outstanding veterans throughout the 40th Senate District. Each veteran that was honored will also be individually featured on a traveling wall that will tour local municipalities throughout the 40th district.
“I am excited to induct this 2nd class of heroes into our Veterans’ Hall of Fame! These men and women have been hand-picked by their communities because they chose a path of courage, honor, integrity and bravery; a path that helped shape America as we know it, protecting our way of life and liberty,” said Senator Greg Ball. “America is not a great country because of its politicians, it’s a great country because of our veterans.”
Sam Lore is the Town of Milan’s honoree for the 40th District Veterans’ Hall of Fame.
Sam Lore was born in Red Hook, New York in December 1928. He served in the United States Army, 74th Engineer Battalion for two years on Active Duty, reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Sam Lore served as Red Hook Town Supervisor from 1976 to 1988, served as President of the Dutchess County Supervisors Association for six years, served two terms as a Red Hook Town Councilman, served as Red Hook Little League President, and donated his labor and equipment to build Red Hook Recreational Park.
Sam Lore worked as a General Contractor for S-J Lore Inc.
