Montrose, Private First Class Paul Raphael


    Private First Class Paul Raphael joined the U.S. Army in 1944, and served in the 76th Infantry, where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Private First Class Raphael was and held as a Prisoner of War (POW) twice. The first time, he was captured by a German Captain and worked in the Vineyards, where he was able to escape. After surviving in the woods, Mr. Raphael was captured a second time and sent to another POW camp. When he completed his service in the military, Mr. Ralphael married his wife Norma, and they had three children together, Mark, Karen, and Amy.
