NEWSDAY: STATE SEN. GREG BALL ANNOUNCES WASHINGTON TRIP FOR WOLRD WAR II VETS
State Sen. Greg Ball (R-Patterson) announced Thursday that he will host a free trip for World War II veterans to Washington on Sept. 17 to visit the National World War II Memorial and participate in an official wreath-laying ceremony.
“On average 1,000 World War II veterans die every day,” Ball said in a news release. “These brave men and women gave so much to fight for our nation’s safety and freedom and it is my honor to give them an opportunity to see the national monument that was created in honor of their service.”
The trip to honor those who served in World War II includes round-trip bus transportation from Ball’s district office in Brewster as well as breakfast, lunch, a snack and dinner.
Ball asked people who know a veteran who can participate, or are willing to volunteer or contribute to make the privately funded trip a reality, to call his office at 845-279-3773 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. (ARTICLE)
