THE PATCH: SEN. BALL PRESENTS $100,000 GRANT TO SALVATION ARMY
Brewster, N.Y. – (8/4/12) – Senator Greg Ball (R, C-Patterson), hosted a check presentation this past Saturday for a $100,000 capital grant that has been successfully secured for the Peekskill Salvation Army.
Senator Ball made a pledge to the Peekskill Salvation Army that he would work tirelessly to secure money to extend their dining hall. Senator Ball is now happy to announce, that as a result of a three-way agreement, funds are now available for a $100,000 capital grant.
The check presentation was hosted at the Peekskill Celebration this past Saturday. The Peekskill Celebration was a weekend of family fun and activities at Peekskill’s Riverfront Green.
“We are very honored and very grateful to have met Senator Ball. Every time he talks, he means what he says. We are so grateful that Senator Ball was able to come through with this grant. He is a man of his word,” said Envoy Chacka Watch of the Peekskill Salvation Army. “On behalf of the community we are very grateful to God for Senator Greg Ball.”
The money will be used to extend the dining hall and build an additional bathroom at the Peekskill Salvation Army, located at 117 Nelson Avenue in Peekskill. The current facility is having difficulty accommodating the more than 100 people who depend on its services on a regular basis.
“Working with local partners, I am so happy that we were able to secure this grant for the Peekskill Salvation Army and I will support them in every way moving forward,” said Senator Greg Ball. “As long as I am in office, I will continue to deliver for the residents of Peekskill and all the towns I represent and fight to bring as much of our tax money back from Albany, to home, where it belongs”
Lt. Colonel Guy D. Klemanski, Divisional Commander of The Salvation Army Greater New York Division, said, “We are so blessed to have partners like Senator Ball. We cannot thank him enough for being our voice in Albany, and we extend our sincerest appreciation on behalf of all those we serve.”
“Senator Ball has shown time and again his commitment to the Peekskill community,” said County Legislator John Testa. “His latest assistance to the local Salvation Army also demonstrates his support for the most vulnerable members of our area.” (ARTICLE)
