Peekskill, Corporal Charles Wassil, Jr. (Posthumously)

 

    Corporal Charles Wassil, Jr., joined the US Marine Corps at the age of 17 and served until 1980, attaining the specialty position of Scout / Sniper. Following his military service, Corporal Wassil joined the NYPD, where he was assigned to the Patrol Division in the 44th Precinct, one of New York City’s busiest Police Precincts. Corporal Wassil then spent the next 18 years serving his hometown as a Police Patrol Officer and later as a Detective. During his many years of service Corporal Wassil helped hundreds of people through their darkest hours with compassion, integrity, and tenacity.
