Ranzenhofer announces reissue of Purple Heart Stamp
State Senator Mike Ranzenhofer announced that the United States Postal service will reissue the Purple Heart Stamp at the First-Class price of 44 cents beginning this May.
“The reissuance of the Purple Heart Stamp is wonderful news for veterans and their families, and we are gratified that the Purple Heart Stamp will be reissued,” said Senator Ranzenhofer. “I hope in the future that the Postal Service will honor those service members wounded in service to our nation with a Forever Stamp.”
Earlier this year, Senator Ranzenhofer wrote to the Postmaster General and cosponsored a legislative resolution requesting that the United States Postal Service issue the Purple Heart Stamp as a permanent “Forever Stamp.” The legislative resolution was adopted in the State Senate with unanimous support on March 10th.
Senator Michael H. Ranzenhofer was elected to the New York State Senate in 2008. He represents the 61st Senate District which includes part of the city of Tonawanda, the Towns of Amherst, Clarence, Newstead and Tonawanda in Erie County and all of Genesee County.
