SENATOR BALL AND HUDSON VALLEY HOSPITAL HOST FREE ‘SENIOR SPRING CHECK UP’

Cortlandt, N.Y.  – (4/20/12) – Senator Greg Ball (R, C – Patterson) teamed up with Hudson Valley Hospital Center to offer seniors the perfect opportunity to take care of their health with a “Spring Check Up” Senior Health Fair. The fair was hosted on April 20 at the Muriel Morabito Community Center in Cortlandt Manor.

“I am so happy to partner up with Hudson Valley Hospital to offer these great services to our senior citizens. I love the opportunity to spend time with the seniors in my community! I always have so much fun and learn so much,” said Senator Ball. “I am working to secure needed funding for senior programs throughout the district, I’m also fighting to freeze school taxes for seniors and constantly working to support the concerns of individual constituents throughout my district.”

“As a community hospital, we are as committed to preventing illnesses as we are to treating them,’’ said John Federspiel, President of Hudson Valley Hospital Center. “The Fair provides a place for seniors to get free health screenings and information and to speak with doctors and other health practitioners in one location close to home. We are proud to provide this community resource.”

More than 30 vendors showed up to offer various services to the seniors that attended. Health professionals offered cholesterol and blood pressure screenings and exhibitors were also on hand to offer health and consumer information and with free give outs!

“The senior fair is absolutely fabulous. Senator Ball does so much for the community, said George Ondeck of Peekskill. “A free health fair today where people can have their blood sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol tested, then after all that if you are ok, go out and get hamburgers and hotdogs all on State Senator Ball, he really delivers! Other politicians get into office and you only see them around election time, but Mr. Ball is really out there helping.”

“When I heard Senator Ball was hosting a senior fair I wanted come to have the opportunity to talk with him and show my support,” said Croton-on-Hudson resident Joan Rossi. “This fair is very beneficial for the senior citizen community. I went to the chiropractor and also had my blood pressure and blood sugar tested which were both ok!”

On top of all the great services that were offered, Senator Greg Ball invited everyone outside after the fair to enjoy a free BBQ and beautiful weather.

“This is a terrific senior fair, I am very impressed. There are so many vendors offering great services and everyone is so pleasant,” said Phil Hall of Cortlandt. “Senator Ball does a lot for Veterans and senior citizens.”

Senator Ball will host his next Senior Health Fair with Northern Westchester Hospital on May 18th at the Northern Westchester Boys and Girl Club located at 351 Main Street, Mt. Kisco, NY from 9:00 AM until 12 PM.
