SENATOR BALL TO ATTEND NASC 8TH ANNUAL SPORTSMAN-LEGISLATOR SUMMIT

Brewster, N.Y. – (11/29/2011) – Senator Greg Ball (R, C – Patterson) will be in Pennsylvania this week at the 8th annual National Assembly of Sportsmen Caucus Summit. Senator Ball who is an avid sportsman is the Chairman of the New York Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus.

In April 2004 legislators in New York met in order to organize a group to address issues that sportsmen in our state face in the legislature. The product of that meeting is the New York Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus, the nineteenth state caucus of its kind in the National Assembly of Sportsmen Caucuses network.

The mission of the caucus is to preserve and promote the right for the citizens of New York to fish, hunt and participate in other outdoor activities. Ranking 10th in spending and 8th in total sportsmen nationwide, the Empire State’s 1.2 million hunters and anglers spend $1.8 billion annually and support 28,000 jobs.

Major focuses of the summit are: the potential impacts of hydraulic fracturing, the wildlife and sports fish restoration program, and the National Ocean and Fishing policy.
