SENATOR BALL DELIVERS HOME RUN FOR BREWSTER LITTLE LEAGUE

Brewster, N.Y. – (7/29/12) – Senator Greg Ball (R, C-Patterson), hosted a check presentation on Sunday for a $95,000 capital grant that was successfully secured for the Brewster Little League.

Senator Ball made a pledge to the Brewster Little League that he would work tirelessly to secure money to help rebuild the field. Today, Senator Ball is happy to announce, that as a result of a three-way agreement, funds are now available for a $95,000 capital grant for the Brewster Little League.

The money will be used to make much needed upgrades, including field repairs, electric and water hookups to Volunteer Park in Brewster. Carl Peterson, who is the president of the little league and has a son on the team, was excited when he heard the money had been secured.

“This 95 thousand means we will be able to be doing something correct from the get go instead of piecing a project together. This will make these fields a premiere facility in Putnam County,” said Carl Peterson. “I really appreciate Senator Ball’s help securing this money. These fields will be something that the kids will enjoy for the next 20 – 30 years.

“Working with local partners, I am so happy that we were able to secure this grant for the Brewster Little League and I will support them in every way moving forward,” said Senator Greg Ball. “As long as I am in office, I will continue to deliver for Brewster and all the towns I represent and fight to bring as much of our tax money back from Albany, to home where it belongs”

“This funding from Senator Ball is greatly appreciated by the Little League and our community,” said County Legislator Roger Gross. “This is an opportunity to greatly enhance Volunteer Park for the benefit of all our young athletes. I know the Little League has some excellent ideas for improving this facility.”

“I would like to thank the Senator for bringing home money to the town of Southeast,” said Councilman Robert Cullen. “This is a project that we would never be able to fund without this grant. This is a great day!”

“Once again Senator Ball hit a grand slam, this time out of Zimmer Park, with his presentation of a check to Brewster Little League for $95,000. Everyone who attended was thrilled,” said Theresa Griffin, Brewster resident and active member of the Ladies Auxiliary. “Hamburgers and hot dogs were enjoyed by all and a great addition to the ceremony.”
