SENATOR BALL HONORS MOUNT KISCO WOMAN OF DISTINCTION AT DISTRICT WIDE HALL OF FAME

 

     

    Carmel, N.Y. – (3/30/12) – Over 30 women from throughout the Hudson Valley were honored at Senator Greg Ball’s (R, C – Patterson) Women of Distinction Hall of Fame. Among them was, Patricia Reilly who was recognized for her distinguished volunteer service and civic commitment as a Woman of Distinction representing the Village of Mount Kisco, New York.

    Created and hosted by Senator Ball, The Women Of Distinction Hall of Fame was designed to honor outstanding women from throughout the 40th Senate District. Each city, town and village within the Senator’s district was asked to nominate a woman to be honored at the event. All the nominees were formally honored and inducted in the Hall of Fame at a district-wide ceremony at The Donald B. Smith, Putnam County Emergency Services Building in Carmel, NY.

    Patricia Reilly is a retired school nurse, teacher and health coordinator who also served the Village of Mount Kisco as Mayor. Mayor Reilly currently serves as co-chairperson of the Mount Kisco Beautification Committee, as a member of the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester, as a member of the Board of Directors for the Woodcrest at Leonard Park Home Owners Association, as Chairperson of the Empire Girls State Unit with the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 136, where she also has served as President, as a member of the Friends of the Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps Committee, as a member of the Mount Kisco Historical Society, as a member of the Northern Westchester Hospital President’s Council, as a community representative of the Mount Kisco Elementary School Compact for Learning Team, as a coordinator volunteer driver with Mount Kisco Friends in Service Helping (FISH), and as a Eucharistic minister at St. Francis of Assisi.

    Mayor Reilly has previously served as chairperson of the Mount Kisco Recreation Commission, as Chairperson of the Mount Kisco Memorial Day Parade Committee, as President of the Mount Kisco Senior Group, and as a member of the Mount Kisco St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee.

    Mayor Reilly has earned the 1991 Mount Kisco Chamber of Commerce “Citizen of the Year” Award, the 1995 Sisqua Council Knights of Columbus Civic Award, the 2002 Neighbors Link “Honoree of the Year” Award, and the 2004 Westchester County “Hibernian of the Year” Award. In 1998, Mayor Reilly was inducted into the Westchester County Senior Citizen Hall of Fame, and in 2008 she was Aide to the Grand Marshall at the New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

    “The women who are here today were nominated by their communities, hand-picked because they chose a path of leadership, living a life of service before self,” said Senator Greg Ball. “Each one of these women here today is so well deserving of this honor because they have built a reputation of action, compassion and integrity a path that that stands as an example to all.”
