SENATOR BALL HOSTS FREE COMMUNITY BBQ IN PEEKSKILL

Peekskill, N.Y. – (10/25/11) – Hundreds of residents showed up to a free community barbeque hosted by Senator Greg Ball (R, C – Patterson) at the Summit of Mt. Olivet in Peekskill, N.Y. The cookout, which was open to the public, was a chance for Senator Ball to meet face-to-face with his constituents and to share his love of Peekskill.

Among those who came out to enjoy the delicious roasted pork, jerk chicken, hamburgers and hot dogs on a sunny afternoon was Peekskill Mayor Foster who said, “I’d like to thank the Senator for taking the time to get to know the Peekskill community.” Also in attendance was Westchester County Legislator John Testa and Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Reverend Dr. Adolphus Lacey.

“It was a great day for the community to have the current Senator come forth and hangout with the people. Ever since I have been around this has never happened before. There was good food and fellowship”, said Reverend Lacey.

When asked about the event Senator Ball said, “Everybody loves food, and I love Peekskill! This is a great city and a critical part of our larger community and I figured, what better way to get to know the people of Peekskill and beyond than with a BBQ!”
“It’s a wonderful day, the weather could not be more perfect. I applaud Senator Ball for his efforts and thank him very much for letting us come today”, said Ossining resident William Reynolds.

Peekskill resident Charlotte Scott said about the BBQ, “I received an invitation in the mail from Senator Ball for the BBQ so after church today I came down to meet him. He is nice man and the food here is great,”
