SENATOR BALL JOINS MAHOPAC EAGLE SCOUT CEREMONY

Mahopac, N.Y. – (3/24/2012) – Senator Greg Ball (R, C – Patterson) presented Jake Isherwood with a proclamation for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout at Putnam National Golf Club Saturday.

This is the  highest possible rank in the Boy Scouts of America. The Eagle Scout is an honor that is held for life and  is said “once an Eagle, always an Eagle.”

“Less than four percent of scouts ever make it to the Eagle Scout ranking and I would like to congratulate Jake for all his hard work to achieve this great honor, said Senator Greg Ball. “Jake is a great leader that we can all be proud of. I look forward to great things from him in the future.”

Jake join the scouts when he was in first grade and has worked his way all the way up to the highest level, Eagle Scout. For his leadership project he worked at The United Methodist Church in Mahopac where he cleared the over grown weeds on the property, install a fence and also built a shed for storage.

“Members of the congregation always wanted a shed for storage but never had the man power to build it, so I decided this would be a good project for me to give back to my community,” said Jake Isherwood. “It makes me feel proud and shows what the scouting program is all about, leadership, dedication and service to your community.”

“I have always been proud of Jake,” said Jakes mom, Beth. “He is a great kid and a very handworker. He has always been a great student and member of the community. Jake is everything a scout should be and everything a parent hopes for.”
