SENATOR GREG BALL: COMPTROLLER’S AUDIT RAISES QUESTIONS ABOUT MISMANAGEMENT OF FINANCES IN PUTNAM COUNTY
Brewster, N.Y. – 03/08/2014 – Senator Greg Ball (R, C, I – Patterson) issued the following statement regarding the New York State Comptroller’s audit of the Putnam County Industrial Development Agency (PCIDA) from January 1, 2012 — May 3, 2013.
“This damning report by the New York State Comptroller raises serious questions about the mismanagement of finances in Putnam County at the highest level, specifically over the past two years. Whether it be taxpayer funds used at the golf course, at the county farm, in county offices, we have consistently seen news reports regarding a lack of leadership and oversight to protect taxpayer dollars. As the majority State Senator responsible for shepherding a lion’s share of Putnam’s legislative business, I demand that immediate safeguards are put in place to protect taxpayers and end the continued corruption and nepotism in Putnam County,” said Senator Greg Ball.
