SENATOR GREG BALL DELIVERS $50,000 TO YORKTOWN & LAKELAND CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR ATHLETIC PROGRAM

Yorktown, N.Y. – (5/11/12)  Senator Greg Ball (R, C – Patterson), successfully secured $50,000 for the Yorktown & Lakeland Central School Districts, which will be used to pay for Athletic Medical and Safety Equipment.

“I am proud to have been able to deliver this grant for Yorktown! It is so critical that we do not pass this type of expense onto local property taxpayers,” said Senator Ball. “I also know that the lessons learned on the athletic field are just as important as those learned in the classroom. I support the investment of keeping our students safe, and will continue pushing for projects that make our communities strong.”

Senator Ball presented Yorktown School Superintendent Dr. Ralph Napolitano with a $50,000 check on May 12, 2012 at the Health Yorktown 5K race, at the Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park.

“We are delighted to receive this phenomenal gift from Senator Ball,” said Superintendent Napolitano. “Our students’ safety is our number one priority.  The Senator’s generous contribution will help to provide our injured students with immediate medical attention that will benefit them.”

“Having volunteered my expertise on the sidelines for nearly 20 years, Seanator Ball has delivered us a game winning touchdown by providing the funding for these state of the art medical carts” Councilman Dr. Terrence Murphy said.  “Our students athletes are now better protected thanks to Senator Ball and I look forward to my continued work with the Yorktown school district and the next generation of Husker athletes.”

“On behalf of the Lakeland Central School District, I want to thank Senator Ball and his staff for helping us to secure a medical cart to be shared between our two high schools, Lakeland High School and Walter Panas High School,” said Lakeland Central School District Superintendent George Stone. “With the wide range of activities taking place across our campuses that are geographically diverse and covering a large expanse of ground, the cart will be invaluable in helping us to arrive at and treat medical situations much quicker.”
