SENATOR GREG BALL HELPS RING THE NASDAQ STOCK MARKET CLOSING BELL
New York , N.Y. – 12/27/2013 – Senator Greg Ball (R, C, I – Patterson), Chairman of the Senate Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs Committee, joined Things We Read, a nonprofit dedicated to serving soldiers deployed overseas and communities in need, on Thursday to ring the NASDAQ stock market closing bell.
“I am honored to join my good friend U.S. Army First Lieutenant Chris Molaro to help ring the NASDAQ stock market closing bell. Chris does wonderful work for our servicemen and women with his nonprofit, The Things We Read as well as his active involvement in the always impressive Army Week Association events,” said Senator Greg Ball. “As we continue to work together to do great things, I take personal pride in joining Things We Read in honoring the men and women that protect our Country every day.”
“We have known Senator Ball since our days as cadets at west point – it is his mentorship and model as a fellow service member and public servant that inspired us to do anything we could to provide for our soldiers,” said Chris Molaro, Founder of Things We Read. “We’re now very pleased to have his official support today at the NASDAQ.”
Things We Read, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit incorporated in the state of New York. They provide an intimate look at the bookshelves of the most influential and interesting people of our time. Things We Read aims to reinvigorate the modern reader with collections of people’s favorite books. As a dedicated non-profit, their proceeds go towards donating these books to soldiers deployed overseas and communities in need.
In addition to the nonprofit Things We Read, Purple Heart Homes also joined Senator Greg Ball to ring the closing bell. Senator Ball is currently working with Purple Heart Homes to assist a service-connected disabled veteran in either constructing or fully renovating a home within the next year.
