SENATOR GREG BALL ISSUES STATEMENT ON VETOED FILM INDUSTRY TAX CREDIT
Brewster, N.Y. – (11/14/2013) – Senator Greg Ball (R,C,I-Patterson), Chairman of the Senate Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs Committee, issued the following statement regarding legislation that was vetoed by Governor Cuomo that would have expanded the tax credit for the film industry into several Hudson Valley counties.
“I am very disappointed that the Governor has vetoed legislation I supported, to expand the tax break program for the film industry. This job creation bill would have included Putnam County as well as several other counties in the Hudson Valley Region, brining many good paying jobs to our area,” said Senator Greg Ball. “This bill would have put Upstate and the Hudson Valley on equal footing with New York City, which receives 91 percent of the benefit of the film tax credit. The Governor should not pit one region of the state against another. The Hudson Valley could benefit from this credit and I will continue to fight to have it included in the next state budget.”
