SENATOR GREG BALL PRESENTS $150,000 GRANT FOR MAHOPAC HIGH SCHOOL FIELD UPGRADES

Mahopac, N.Y. – 9/04/2012 – Senator Greg Ball (Patterson – R, C) joined students and administration of Mahopac High School on Tuesday evening at the ribbon cutting to officially open Mahopac’s new state-of-the-art artificial turf football field. Senator Ball was happy to announce at the ribbon cutting that a $150,000 capital grant was successfully secured to upgrade baseball and softball fields across the campus.

Mahopac School District Superintendent Thomas Manko was delighted that the grant was obtained and is looking forward to using the money to make much needed field upgrades.

“The Senator’s continued support for this school community is much appreciated. We cannot thank him enough,” said Manko. “In assuring the school receives these grants, the district is able to provide facilities for the children, the Mahopac Sports Association and the community to use.”

“Many of the fields at Mahopac need work and the school needs some help with funding, so I am proud to be able to assist. Working with Superintendent Manko, Supervisor Schmitt, Councilman Lombardi, Councilwomen McDonough and others, I am so happy that we were able to secure this grant for Mahopac and I will support them in every way moving forward,” said Senator Greg Ball. “As long as I am in office, I will continue to deliver for the residents of Mahopac and all the towns I represent and fight to bring as much of our tax money back from Albany, to home, where it belongs.”

“On behalf of all the residents in the town of Carmel we would like to express our sincere thanks for the support that we have received over the years from State Senator Greg Ball. The Senator has always been there to provide assistance in many different ways to our community,” said Carmel Town Supervisor Ken Schmitt. “By appropriating these funds through a state grant Senator Ball demonstrates that he cares deeply about the residents and youth of our community and that he recognizes that sports and extracurricular activities truly benefit the youth of our community.”

“Our community takes great pride in our athletic facilities. This money will help to improve the lives of our student athletes and the entire community that will come out to watch these games,” said Councilman Frank Lombardi. “We thank the Senator for coming through for our community once again.”
