Senator Ranzenhofer Announces Veterans Outreach

Amherst, N.Y. – New York State Senator Michael H. Ranzenhofer announced a Veterans Outreach Program today for Wednesday, May 27, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Harlem Road Community Center, 4255 Harlem Road in Amherst.  The program, led by Erie County Director of Veterans Services Patrick Welch, informs veterans about benefits as well as presents special opportunities for veterans that include networking and business start-up programs.

“Our veterans have given much to defend our freedom and our country.  It is imperative that veterans be made aware of all the benefits they have earned.  This outreach program will help to ensure that veterans have access to all of the programs and services to which they are entitled,” said Senator Ranzenhofer.  “I encourage all veterans and family members to attend the upcoming Outreach on May 27.”

The Veterans Outreach Program provides veterans with a great opportunity to learn first-hand about the most current information from accredited representatives, including the Erie County Veterans Services Agency, Vietnam Veterans of America, the VA Hospital, and the New York State Department of Labor.  Updates pertaining to benefits will be provided as well as an opportunity for veterans to ask questions pertaining to individual circumstances.

To RSVP for the program or for additional information, please contact Senator Ranzenhofer’s District Office by phone at (716) 631-8695.
